Every travel, short or long, nearby or far comes under migration. When a person crosses a country border while they travel, there are various terms associated with it based on the country that person is entering or exiting.
The person will be named as an Immigrant (or migrant) and Emigrant (or outmigrant), while he enters and leaves a country, respectively. To be more clear, if a person is travelling from a country, he will be considered as an emigrant for that particular country. Similarly, the country in which that person travelled to (enters), he will be considered as an immigrant for that particular country.
The movement of immigrants into the country is called Immigration. Check about Economic Migration Here.
Non-Economic immigrants are one of the types of immigrants, who move from one place to another or across borders. The movement of non-economic migrants across the countries leads to Non-Economic Migration.
These migrants are mostly the foreign born or refugees who do not travel for job opportunities or improved living standards. These travels don't involve financial or economic change. To understand non-economic migration, we need to first know about non-economic activity.
What is non-economic activity?
The activity with the purpose to provide services to others but without any thoughts about financial gains are called non-economic activity. These involve human emotions or sentiments like meeting relatives, cultural seminars, religious workshops, relief camping or attending any family event.
If you are travelling to different places with the motive of self-satisfaction or emotional connection that comes under non-economic migration.
