Having Immense Knowledge Doesn’t Mean You Are a Great Teacher!

Many wise people have been suggested to make teaching their own profession. But can they teach, is it a big question?

I have seen scenarios where the students were good in studies and were suggested to be a teacher because they were keen to learn and had immense knowledge. In that case, the shoe-shiners should be the shoemakers because they hold great knowledge about the sole, base, ribbons, lather, design, and everything about all kinds of shoes.

Several people choose to teach because they admire children, while multiple of them are drawn towards teaching as they are passionate about learning.

Does all that suffice to be a good teacher?

The test of a good teacher is not how many questions he can ask his pupils that they will answer readily, but how many questions he inspires them to ask him which he finds it hard to answer.” – Alice Wellington Rollins

Teaching is the foundation of education, literacy, and the future of the world. Giving this responsibility in any random hands is not the right approach. We shouldn’t take such risks with the future of a child as well as the growth of the world.

Everyone has a teacher or a coach or a guide in their life at each step; that can be your parents who taught you to pronounce your first words, or maybe your grandparents who passed on their lifelong experiences or your friends who told you how to hold-hands in all ups and downs and stay strong. Here, I am not going to share my views on those of your support systems who guided you or taught you about different situations.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding and respectful occupations, but not as easy as you might think of. The teacher is the one who shapes the next generation and leads the world towards a bright future.

I have a bunch of people in my life who are teachers, and I am amazed by seeing how much effort they put in and the hardship they go through to mentor each individual child with love, care, support, and proper guidance.

Not even two children are the same; each has different qualities, ways of learning, and grasping skills. And being a good teacher includes –

1. Patience to understand each student and the ability to deal with them accordingly.

2. Understanding and friendly but should have the skill to maintain the decency of the class.

3. Listen carefully and give students their amount of time to describe the queries.

4. Expertise in the subject or course, along with the ability to explain and transfer the knowledge in such a way that is easily acknowledged by the students.

5. Teaching, the students as well as the parents, moral values, and effective communication skills.

6. Management skills to keep the discipline as well as the documentation of the lessons taught with results. This also includes various other responsibilities they have.

You might see a speaker talking about cleanliness and still not following those measures himself, but, if it comes to a teacher, the discipline and manners taught are always adapted by him on a personal level as well. A teacher plants the seed of basic knowledge inside the child’s brain, which grows with time and becomes the new creative idea towards the betterment of an individual.

Do you have all these skills? Do you have the ability to become a role model? Can you guide the future in the right direction?

A good teacher can inspire hope, Ignite the imagination, & Instill a love of learning.

So, think wisely before you choose your future!

I don’t say you can’t; but, make sure you do what you can!
