Do you know? What is Migration?

Every travel, short or long, nearby or far comes under migration. Here, I am going to share about the travels across the country borders.

When a person crosses a country's border while they travel, there are various terms associated with it based on the country that person is entering or exiting. The person will be named as an Immigrant (or migrant) and Emigrant (or outmigrant), while he enters and leaves a country, respectively. To be clearer, if a person is traveling from a country, he will be considered as an emigrant for that particular country. Similarly, the country in which that person traveled to (enters); will be considered as an immigrant for that particular country.

Therefore, the same person is an immigrant as well as an emigrant, which depends on the country’s point of view.

Firstly, let’s focus on travel or entry into the country. The movement of immigrants into the country is called Immigration. The terminology emerged in the 17th century, and since 2000, international migration has increased at a high rate.

Immigration, initially, refers to the movement of non-warlike folks crossing the country's borders. People who are traveling only for development, jobs, or as a refugee.

The USA is the base with the maximum number of migrants of 19% entering the country for various purposes, followed by Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the UK, and UAE. The youngest international migrants were in Africa, with an average age of 29, followed by Asia (35 years), the USA (39 years), Europe (43 years), and Oceania (44 years).

There are various types of Immigration based on distinct factors like employment, survival, development, etc. I will share those details in my next blog, till then stay tuned!
